The Ministry stated that the Russian aircraft was temporarily downed due to technical failure and subsequently struck by an ISIS's Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM), leaving the helicopter destroyed near the village of Huweises.
"The crew was not injured and was promptly returned by a search-and-rescue helicopter to the Humeimim airbase," the ministry added.
The Russian Ministry said all the Russian military personnel survived the incident and landed safely at the Humeimim Airbase in Lattakia.
