Ali Carter reached his first final at a ranking event since the 2013 German Masters with victory over Thepchaiya Un-Nooh at the World Open in China.
The 37-year-old won 6-1 against the Thai, who knocked out world champion Mark Selby in the second round.
Two-time World Championship finalist Carter thrashed John Higgins 5-0 in the quarter-finals on Friday.
The Englishman will now face either Australian Neil Robertson or compatriot Joe Perry in Sunday's final.
