Abu Omar Khorasani calls Donald Trump 'a complete maniac'
A top commander of terror group ISIS says Donald Trump is a "complete maniac" who will aid their cause.

Abu Omar Khorasani, an ISIS commander in Afghanistan , said the US president-elect's shock victory over Hillary Clinton will help the group recruit new fighters, especially youth in the West.

Extremists plan to use Trump's campaign comments about Muslims as a propaganda tool to bolster their ranks in the Middle East or inspire attacks abroad.

At one point during the lengthy presidential campaign Trump, the Republican candidate and business mogul, called for a ban on Muslims entering the US.

Khorasani told Reuters: "This guy is a complete maniac. His utter hate towards Muslims will make our job much easier because we can recruit thousands."

He described President Barack Obama as a moderate infidel with at least a little brain in comparison to Trump.

He added: "Our leaders were closely following the US election but it was unexpected that the Americans will dig their own graves and they did so."

The ongoing war against ISIS and terrorism in general was one of the key platforms of the campaign.

Just months earlier a husband and wife shot and killed 14 people at a work Christmas party in San Bernardino, California.

US officials have warned the country will likely face a higher risk of similar "homegrown" attacks as ISIS urges its supporters to kill people at home instead of joining its fight in the Middle East .
