Manchester United lose its first European game and its second in a row under Jose Mourinho as Feyenoord registered a 1 – 0 win over the Red Devils in the Europa League.
Tonny Vilhena scored the only goal of a game that was totally dominated by Feyernood at home.
Jose Mourinho made eight changes to the side that lost to Manchester City in the Manchester derby with only Paul Pogba, David De Gea and Anthony Martial retaining their starting berth.
The likes of Chris Smalling (captain), Matteo Darmian, Marcus Rojo, Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford started the game at De Kuip.
Anthony Martial had the opportunity to open the scoring towards the end of the first half after a wonderful combination by Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Matteo Darmian on the right with the latter crossing for the Frenchman.
Mourinho brought on Zlatan Ibrahmovic, Ashely Young and Memphis Depay in place of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata but neither of the trio could inspire a comeback.
This is Jose Mourinho’s second defeat in competitive games for United following last weekend’s Manchester derby loss.
