Ghazala Khan mocked by Donald Trump
The mother of a US Muslim soldier who was mocked by Donald Trump after not speaking during a speech by her husband has said his "attack hurt me but my religion tells me to forget him".
Speaking to ITV News correspondent Robert Moore in their first British television interview since the incident at the Democratic National Convention, Ghazala Khan said: "He doesn't know Muslims, Muslim women are very strong.

"I can say anything to Donald Trump but I will hold myself because I have respect for human beings. I want him to feel the love for us. I don't need any apology from anyone".

Mrs Khan stood next to her husband Khizr as he gave a powerful speech at the Democratic party convention last week, in which Mr Khan labelled Donald Trump "ignorant " for proposing a ban on Muslims entering the US.

The couple's son, Captain Humayun Khan was killed by a car bomb in 2004 in Iraq at the age of 27.
