Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S7 Active, the rugged variant of its latest flagship. Once again, the Active variant is exclusive to US carrier AT&T, with availability set to begin from June 10.

The S7 Active retains most of the specs of the regular Galaxy S7 but comes with a rugged outer shell with military grade protection against bumps and drops and a much larger battery (4,000 mAh instead of the 3,000 mAh battery on the standard S7).

As a refresher, the specs include a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, and 32GB of expandable internal storage.

The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box; a fingerprint sensor is onboard the Galaxy S7 Active, which is a first for Samsung’s Active lineup. The device will be available in Sandy Gold, Titanium Grey, and Camo Green colors.
