Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi has been admitted to hospital in Milan for a heart problem.
However, a spokeswoman for Mr Berlusconi's Forza Italia party said his condition is not life-threatening.

San Raffaele hospital where he is currently being treated said in a statement that the hospital admission was necessary because of a "cardiac deficiency".

Berlusconi, 79, will undergo tests in the next few days to determine the appropriate therapy, the hospital statement added.

The centre-right politician was Italy's prime minister four times. He had a pacemaker implanted in a US hospital when he was 70.
