90-year-old woman cast vote for Clinton before she died
An American women, Anita Harris, born in 1926 had only been granted the right to vote six years earlier. For the next 90 years, Anita waited for her chance to vote a woman into the White House, a wish that came true just days before her death.

Anita’s son, Scott Harris, posted a picture of his mum casting her vote for Hillary Clinton to the invitation-only National Pantsuit Day Facebook group.

The caption read: “My mom. Voting for HRC. She waited 90 years. She passed away last night. She’ll be cheering from above Tuesday nite [sic].”

The post received over 2,500 comments offering condolences to Scott and his family, a response that
he never expected. “What is amazing is that human kindness still exists within this contentious election,”

he said to The Huffington Post. “It reminds me of people stopping and taking off a hat as a funeral procession passed by, honouring a complete stranger. Just shows Love Trumps Hate.”

Scott explained that his mother had been ill and living in a hospice for the past eight months. She didn’t
want a funeral service just for her sons to eat “great Chinese food”, which they are planning on coinciding with a Hillary win.

Ninety years is a long time to wait for anything and, hopefully, next Tuesday Anita’s wait won’t have been in vain.
