Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann said that the team will have to play a "perfect match" in the Champions League final against neighbour rivals Real Madrid on May 28 in Milan.
"We will have to play a
perfect match and I trust the club and teammates so that we are all
prepared for that final," he explained.
The French international noted that everyone should be "happy" with
this "great year" after his team finished third in La Liga and advanced
to the Champions League final.
"The
goal was to be in the top three. We gave our all until the end and we
are happy with the level and the qualification in the Champions League,
and hopefully we can raise that level each year," Griezmann explained.
"I
am happy with my performance because every year it seems that I
increase my level, I bring more to the team and to my game and
hopefully, I can continue on that line," he added.
Griezmann has scored 32 goals this season in all competitions, including
22 in La Liga, seven in the Champions League and three in Copa del Rey.
However, he has been chosen by Atletico's fans as best in the league.
